Perspective Photography was born over 15 years ago when I knew that I wanted to devote myself to capturing events and moments in time through photography. My journey from being a self-taught photographer to becoming a professional photographer has been one of continuous learning built on a diverse experience.
While in Universtiy, I photographed friends that were models. This experience had me doing shoots for various Chicago area modeling agencies. Upon graduation with a Biology degree, I had not idea what I wanted to do nor which direction I wanted to go. An opportunity presented itself to teach and travel to a third world country with the Peace Corps and for the next three years, I lived in Thailand. Of course, I brought my Minolta x700, and when I entered the Kingdom of Thailand, I knew what I wanted to do when I grew up - be a photographer. The colors, the clarity, the saturation, and the beauty were overwhelming. From that moment on, I photographed everything that I could. I learned to appreciate shooting in natural light and learned to deal with shooting in uncomfortable situations and positions.
After Thailand, I traveled throughout Southeast Asia just shooting and putting together a portfolio. Upon returning to the States, again I picked up where I left off, shooting modeling agency people, but with a new appreciation of what I learned from being half-way around the world.
Presently, I am shooting a lot of video campaigns and am an award winning director and producer.
